A Hero's Blood

You may have seen a roleplay of mine on the Sporum. The idea had support, although it never made it past 10 pages. It was an epic historical roleplay. Some of the players include Groxian3000, Greenducky3, and of course the history buff DoctorWalrus. I am planning to re-post it here, and even add some more to the OP. Here is the original OP:



Creaks and blasts barraged the wooden walls with terrifying sounds. Bits of wood flew inside. The ship rocked from side to side, causing queasiness and nausea to the crew inside. It was frightening enough to have their small wooden boat slowly being blasted apart. A spark of orange suddenly burst from the wooden floor, consuming its surroundings with blazing flame. The crew raced to find an escape, but as fire began to fly in from yet another side of the boat, they all ran backwards to the short, creaking steps to find their way outside to the top of the small ship. The fiery blaze devastated the hull as it continued to rage.

The moonlight lit the open deck, yet the fire continued to rage towards them. A boom of a musket sounded, and the crew watched in horror as they saw one of their comrades on the ground without a twitch.

"Get, out, now!" one of the crew yelled to the others.

Any constructive criticism or ideas?

Systematically they all plopped from the side of the ship into the shallow bank of the ocean. Although they had escaped from the ship, which was now a flaming heap of wood, the tsziiing of an unsheathed sword showed that the crew wasn't in safety just yet.

"Obtener ellos!"

All of the crew had heard those words before. It meant nothing other than, "Get them!"

The captain whipped out a revolver and shot at the Spanish closing in on them with their rifles and swords.

"Hey! Captain! Just run!" the rest of the crew seemed to say.

The captain did not respond to his pleading crewmembers, except for a gesture ordering them to run. The few bullets the captain shot saved time for the crewmembers to escape. A burst of red came from the captain's torso. The captain fell into the shallow bank of the ocean, dead.

Only a few of the six crewmembers looked back to see what had become of their captain. They did not have any time to analyze the situation. They just ran until the Spanish could no longer catch up to them.

Story

History is taught so we do not make the same mistakes as the human race has done before. It is fascinating how history affects how the world is today, how we live today, and how we know to not make the same errors as done in the past. Let me take you on a trip through history in this grand roleplay.

People sometimes follow in the footsteps of those before them; their fathers and grandfathers. But not always necessarily. One may wish to follow in the footsteps of great people such as Albert Einstein or Mother Teresa. In this RP, a bloodline of heroes will run through the late 18th century, the 20th century, and the early 21st.

So basically, you play as the descendants of the people from before!

Explanation

In this roleplay, you have no permanent characters. Instead, you play as the descendants of the people from the opening. We first start as a gang of people during the Spanish-American war. Our characters are fighting in the Philippines, a former Spanish colony. These people will become great heroes, and, interestingly, so will their sons or daughters.

The scenes aren't jumpy, and I will give you time to settle into a different time period.

So first we're in the Spanish-American War. The sons or daughters of our characters will go on to the next part of the roleplay. This roleplay will span an entire century! Now think about that!

Event: Spanish-American War

Location: Philippines

Date: 1898

Description: As said before, we are a group of soldiers in the Spanish American War who have escaped from a boat set on fire by the Spanish. The captain sacrificed himself for us, and we must go on our own until the tide of the war changes.

Rules
1. No godmodding. This includes all examples of it.
2. No metagaming whatsoever.
3. No discussion of anything inappropriate.
4. Do not pick on the gamemaster or the mods unless you have a legitimate reason to do so.
5. No spamming. This includes posting random images that do not pertain to the roleplay or just all around spamming.
6. No semi-spamming. Semi-spamming is when you don’t directly spam, but you drive the thread to chaos by posting IC with ridiculous content such as “Bob throws a pancake at Aaron’s face.”
7. Have fun. It makes it more fun for the other players.

A nice idea... I would be temped to join, but unfortunatly im to caught upin the other RPs.
